Friday!!

Friday, May 27, 2011

It's Friday and I have no school.  It was originally closed for the holiday, but then they opened it because we had used too many snow days, but now it's closed again because of weather conditions.  (Even though I do wonder what they're talking about: it's a hot, sunny day out.  But I'm not complaining!)  Friday is my favorite day of the week, as many of you already know.  I mean, I get to participate in two awesome memes. Follow Friday from Parajunkee and Blogger Hop from Crazy-for-Books.com are Friday memes, a great way to make new friends. Here's the questions below:

How many books do you read in a week? And in what format do you read them, or listen to them?
I try to read, at least, 2-3 books a week.  Because of school, I usually just read 2 books.  During the summer, I read more than that.  I simply hate audio books.  It's just: I really have to like the person's voice to like the book they're reading.  I listened to some of the Harry Potter books on tape once, Jim Dale did such a fantastic job with the characters.  I guess I would have to have someone reccomend an audio book to me, for me to venture into listening to it.  Any suggestions?

What book-to-movie adaption have you most liked? Which have you disliked?
I just went to the movies a few weeks ago and saw Something Borrowed.  In my opinion, I think it was the best book-to-movie adaptation, I've seen yet.  It wasn't exactly like the books, it did miss a few scenes but even with those scenes gone, the movie was fantastic and a perfect representation to the book.  And then there was Eragon.  I love the books and when this movie came out, I was totally psyched to see it.  And oh, did it disappoint me.  I still can't watch the movie anymore, my brother (who hasn't read the book) was in love with it and he would watch it every week if I had allowed him.  It was such a bad adaptation; I couldn't stand it.

Have a lovely weekend!  For those of you who went to BEA this week, I hope you loved it (can't wait to hear all about your experience)!  Happy holidays!

  4. I bought tickets in advance for Eragon, then ended up pulling two all nighters in a row. I ended up enjoying it, but I was also delirious and slept through half of it. I also have a soft spot for really terrible movies. Ones that are just so bad you can't not like them. :)

  7. Hopping back to your blog!

I've never saw Eragon or read the books, but now I know to stay away from the movie.

As far as audiobook recommends..J.D. Robb's In Death series is narrated by Susan Erikson and they are wonderful!

I still can't get Google to let me log in right & I can't see your follow list. I've followed you on Networked Blogs and will come back once they get their stuff straight.

    Happy FF!!!

  9. I haven't read Eragon so I'm not sure how much the movie sucked compared to the book. By itself, I liked the movie. But, I've heard so many people hated it because it wasn't anything like the book. Sad. Thanks for stopping by my blog. :)
