In the beginning, there's a boy standing in the trees . . . .
Clara Gardner has recently learned that she's part angel. Having angel blood run through her veins not only makes her smarter, stronger, and faster than humans (a word, she realizes, that no longer applies to her), but it means she has a purpose, something she was put on this earth to do. Figuring out what that is, though, isn't easy.

Her visions of a raging forest fire and an alluring stranger lead her to a new school in a new town. When she meets Christian, who turns out to be the boy of her dreams (literally), everything seems to fall into place—and out of place at the same time. Because there's another guy, Tucker, who appeals to Clara's less angelic side.

As Clara tries to find her way in a world she no longer understands, she encounters unseen dangers and choices she never thought she'd have to make—between honesty and deceit, love and duty, good and evil. When the fire from her vision finally ignites, will Clara be ready to face her destiny?

Unearthly is a moving tale of love and fate, and the struggle between following the rules and following your heart. --Goodreads
Clara is an angel. Recently she's been having visions of a boy. Her mom says that her visions will lead her to her purpose (something she was put on this Earth for). As time passes, Clara's visions are getting stronger. She can smell a forest fire, make out the boy's figure, and eventually finds his truck. Clara and her family follow the vision.

There she meets Christian, the boy of her dreams, and Tucker, who teases her every chance he gets. While she tries to discover her purpose on Earth, she experiences a summer that all teenage girls dream of. Then she is forced to choose between the boy she is supposed to rescue or her true love. Who will she choose?

This book was gorgeous! Who cares about vampires when you can have angels? Clara was a perfect little angel. She was relate-able- which I love about a lot of characters, and she was awesome! I loved watching her grow throughout the course of the novel. Christian is like every girl's dream. Plus, the twist about Christian at the end, definitely had me drooling. Tucker. I am going to be very honest with you. I hated Tucker. Sure, it's common to hear about a guy teasing you, who really has a crush on you- but that whole thing was a bit like elementary school. Tucker constantly bugged her and teased her. He was not very nice. So I really could not understand how Clara and Tucker's relationship turned into anything more than hatred. However, I enjoyed Tucker's tour-guide side, I mean who wouldn't love some country-cowboy showing you around town?

Cynthia Hand's writing was fabulous! I could not put this book down. If you haven't read it yet- go check it out. You will not be disappointed.
