Echoes (Haunted) by Melinda Metz

I did a sub-review for this book a few days ago, but like I said in that post, I've never could keep straight the books that I read in one book.  Echoes by Melinda Metz has multiple stories in the one book.  It is a series that was once published as Fingerprints.  The "sub-stories," I'd like to name them, should be reviewed separately.  This way if anyone who has the original published series, instead of my copy of Echoes, they can follow along too.

This power that I have -- this ability to reach inside people's minds and know their thoughts...
Anthony says it's a gift.
But ever since this gift started, my life has been in danger.
And now someone I care about is in trouble because of me.
I have to help him -- if I can find him.
Where is he?
Review:
I liked this better than the first one.  It just seemed that there was more action and more heart pounding moments to get me reading further.  I am not sure why, but I am having a little trouble getting through this book.  I really like the plot so I think it may be Melinda Metz's writing style.  Maybe it's just the snippy-ness of Rae's voice that gets me.

Haunted is the second book in the series and there are way too many questions left unanswered that if I had to wait for the third one, I'm not sure what I would have done.  Questions like: is Rae going to start dating her ex again, who is after her and what do they want- and something that has been a question since the first book: what is the deal with her mother, what really happened to her?

Besides from that and a few other minor annoyances, I liked it much better than the first.  In both books, however, I loved the epilogue.  In the epilogue, it would change perspective to the so-called character who is after Rae.  It seems a little too obvious giving these major clues away, but I still think I will be surprised as to who it is- hopefully I'll find out in the third book.

I would suggest this book to whomever loves paranormal stories.  The plot is absolutely amazing and wonderfully planned out.
