Top 10 Books On My Winter TBR (2020)
Tuesday, December 15, 2020I can’t believe the year is almost over! It’s been a rough year and I’m glad to welcome in the new year. My reading has been a little all over the place, with stress, work, and school, it just hasn’t been the best reading year for me. However, I hope to read some of these. I’m hoping to sneak the following books in my reading schedule during my holiday break.
The Dark Descent of Elizabeth Frankenstein by Kiersten White: This one is very short so it surprises me that I found it on my shelf unread the other day. It’s a retelling of Frankenstein and it’s Kiersten White so it’ll definitely be good!
Beasts Made of Night by Tochi Onyebuchi: I’ve had so many people recommend this to me. I don’t know much about it except that cover is gorgeous. I haven’t read anything by Onyebuchi but I’m excited to dive in.
Everless by Sara Holland: I was gifted this a few years ago and winter is always the best time to read some fantasy!
Hunted by Megan Spooner: I picked this up thinking it was a Robin Hood retelling based on the cover, but it turns out that it is a Beauty and the Beast retelling. I’m not mad about it. I adore Beauty and the Beast retellings so I’m excited to read this one!
The Vault of Dreamers by Caragh M. O’Brien: Kayla from BooksandLala has released all the words for the monthly buzzwordathon—a readathon where participants read books with a specific word in the title. While I don’t think I’ll participate every year, I can join during January. January’s word is “dream” so this one works perfectly!
The Golden Compass by Philip Pullman: This was a really popular book when I was growing up and I never read it. Probably because I saw the trailer for the movie had talking animals in it and that’s usually a hard pass for me. Yet, there’s even a popular TV show based on it now too and I kind of what to know what the hype is about.
What are you planning on reading this winter?
