Top 10 Upcoming Releases I Need Right Now

Tuesday, May 01, 2018

My TBR may be as high as Mount Everest but let's add to it, shall we? I am aware of what's happening here. I have too many books to read. Why don't you just stop buying books for a bit? That's like telling the publishers to stop releasing amazing books. Something no one should do. So, this cycle of books releasing and me snatching them up (and then not reading them for a hundred years) continues.

I went through all the book releases that I know I most definitely want. To tell you the truth, it was super difficult to cut the list down to 10. I suppose I could have given you a list of 50 releases I need but then we'd probably be here all day. So, 10 it is. Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. This week’s topic is: Top 10 Books I'd Slay a Lion to Get Early.

King of Scars by Leigh Bardugo (1/29/19): By the time the book releases, I will have read the Grisha trilogy in preparation for this spin off. However, I couldn't not put this one on the list. The cover revealed the other day and it is just so gorgeous! I can't wait to see it in real life!

A Map of Days by Ransom Riggs (10/2/18): I was pleasantly surprised when Riggs revealed this cover last week. I didn't know this project was underway. Having just finished the third book in the series, I am set to dive right into this one. And this time, there's going to be full-color photos!

Dawn of Legends by Eleanor Herman (6/26/18): I fell like I'm the only one who ever talks about this book. Tell me you've read this series (Blood of Gods and Royals series). This is the fourth book in the series and despite having such a large cast of characters, these books are such a treat. Filled with scandal, magic, romance, and more. I most definitely need this one now, please.

Dance of Thieves by Mary E. Pearson (8/7/18): I don't know much about this one. I did read the synopsis way back one and added it immediately. That's certainly a sign that I need this book in my life right now. And that cover!

War Storm by Victoria Aveyard (5/15/18): I'm skulking about this one. I definitely need it - I certainly needed it when I finished the last book in the series. I haven't quite forgiven anything that happened in the last book yet. I know I'm not going to be happy about the direction. I just want everyone to have a happy ending; is that too much to ask?!

Escaping from Houdini by Kerri Maniscalco (9/18/18): I read Stalking Jack the Ripper not too long ago now and even though I haven't read the sequel, I love to binge series so to do so, I need this one right at this moment. And don't you just love when all the covers match in some form or other!

Love & Luck by Jenna Evans Welch (5/8/18): This is the companion novel to Love & Gelato which was an adorable surprise last year. I can't wait for this to release! Where the first book was set in Italy, this one is set in Ireland and I'm hoping for some fantastic descriptions of the landscape!

The Lady's Guide to Petticoats and Piracy by Mackenzi Lee (10/2/18): I love love love The Gentleman's Guide to Vice and Virtue so I have very high expectations going into this one and I hope it doesn't disappoint. It follows Felicity in her adventure to achieve her dreams of becoming a doctor. And I hope Monty and Percy make a cameo!

From Twinkle, with Love by Sandhya Menon (5/22/18): I read When Dimple Met Rishi and absolutely adored it! I'm hoping to find that cuteness in her new book as well.

Sweet Black Waves by Kristina Perez (6/5/18): I don't think I've mentioned what books got me into reading (another post for another day), but one of the series that sealed the deal in becoming an avid reader was a retelling of the tragic tale of Tristan and Isolde. This book is a start of a trilogy that retells the tale through the eyes of Branwen, Isolde's lady-in-waiting. I cannot wait! And that cover looks so pretty!

What books are you eagerly waiting for?
