Post-It: Fairest by Marissa Meyer

To gather my thoughts before writing a review, I tend to utilize the awesome objects that are post-its (for real- whoever came up with post-its are a genius).  Sometimes time gets in the way and my small post-its go untouched.  It has gotten to the point that my pile of post-its keep growing, remaining untouched, until I forget almost everything I really wanted to say in my review.  Thus, Post It Reviews was born. The feature serves as a mini-review.

In this stunning bridge book between Cress and Winter in the bestselling Lunar Chronicles, Queen Levana’s story is finally told.
 Mirror, mirror on the wall,
Who is the fairest of them all?
Fans of the Lunar Chronicles know Queen Levana as a ruler who uses her “glamour” to gain power. But long before she crossed paths with Cinder, Scarlet, and Cress, Levana lived a very different story – a story that has never been told . . . until now.
Marissa Meyer spins yet another unforgettable tale about love and war, deceit and death. This extraordinary book includes full-color art and an excerpt from Winter, the next book in the Lunar Chronicles series. --Goodreads

Levana is the villain of The Lunar Chronicles. However, something changes in this novel and readers sort of feel for her even though we definitely didn't want to.  Meyer puts her through so much; you can't help but realize that this is why she hates everything.  I would have loved more side stories but I do understand that this is supposed to be all about Levana-- it definitely is just that.  Evert was adorable and the ending just killed me.  I sort of expected it.  Plus, while I impatiently wait for Winter to release, we got a glimpse of the protagonist from the upcoming book.  I am so excited to read the next one in the series.  As a novella, and part of the series, this book is definitely worth reading!
