Summer Fun with the New Kid!

Saturday, August 24, 2013

Hi, Cince here.  I'm new.  Gina did this survey last week and thought it was lots of fun so I decided to give it a go.  This A to Z survey was created by The Perpetual Page-Turner.  To join the fun, make sure you link back to her and comment on the original post.

Author you’ve read the most books from:
Lynsay Sands (medieval, regency and vampire romance)

Best Sequel Ever:
Anything by Eloisa James because she just keeps getting better and better.  I don’t even read the back cover or inside excerpt before buying books by Eloisa James.  I see her name and it’s in my cart.

Currently Reading:
Amelia Anne is Dead and Gone by Kat Rosenfield

Drink of Choice While Reading:
I don’t like to eat or drink while reading because I don’t want to smudge up the pages.

E-reader or Physical Book?
Physical book and audio CD.  I behind the technology craze and am still trying to figure out my cell phone features.

Fictional Character You Probably Would Have Actually Dated In High School:
I would love to have a best friend like Will Hanes from If The Shoe Fits:  A Contemporary Fairy Tale by Sandra D. Bricker because he sticks by his heroine even when she is too blind to see the truth.

Glad You Gave This Book A Chance:
Skinny by Donna Cooner and Close My Eyes by Sophie McKenzie.  Each of these excellent books was not my usual style of reading material, but each blew me away unexpectedly in their own manner.

Hidden Gem Book:
Bliss by Lynsay Sands

Important Moment in your Reading Life:
When I read Cheylynne by Robin Carr.  Up until that point I had read only Science Fiction and Fantasy.  On a break home from college, I picked up this book and couldn’t put it down.  I stayed awake till 5am the next morning and read it all in one shot.  That was the turning point when I switched my main reading genre to historical romance.  (although I have in the last couple of years broaden my horizons further into other genres as well).

Just Finished:
Ashes by Ilsa J. Bick (Audio CD)
The Field by Tracy Richardson (Physical book)

Kinds of Books You Won’t Read:
Normally I will not read zombie books – I do not like extreme gore and cannibalism – but Ashes does include some zombie mutants and a little bit of both of both of these items and I still enjoyed it.

Longest Book You’ve Read:
The Bible (and yes, I mean cover to cover)
After that I would have to say The Passage by Justin Cronin.

Number of Bookcases You Own:
My books are only in bookcases if I haven’t read them yet.  Once they are read, I either share them with friends, family and coworkers, or put them in boxes for safe keeping till I want to read them again (like if they have a sequel I will go back and read the first books to remind me of the story).

One Book You Have Read Multiple Times:
The DeMontforte series by Danelle Harmon (four historical romance books about brothers during the American and French Revolutionary period – all hot and steamy and full of love and laughter.

Preferred Place To Read:
Audio CDs in the car
Physical books – anywhere I can find a cozy, comfortable place all to myself for a while to curl up with a book.

Quote that inspires you/gives you all the feels from a book you’ve read:
“When you were born, you cried and the world rejoiced.  Live your life so that when you die, the world cries and you rejoice.”
Chief White Elk (Oto Nation)

Reading Regret:
I regret not getting to book series sequels as fast as I would like, but as I am currently reviewing books for a couple of sites, I feel obligated to give those books priority over my personal wishes.  However I have stumbled across some excellent books this way that I know the sequels will definitely be added to my “to read” list.

Series You Started And Need To Finish(all books are out in series):
The Maximum Ride series by James Patterson

Three of your All-Time Favorite Books:
Bliss by Lynsay Sands
The DeMontforte series by Danelle Harmon
Lastly would be a tie between Origin by Jessica Khoury , Altered by Jennifer Rush and Stung by Bethany Wiggins

Unapologetic Fangirl For:
Genetic mutation and android Science Fiction

Very Excited For This Release More Than All The Others:
I can’t choose just one – there are so many excellent choices coming up soon.  Christmas will be great this year.

Worst Bookish Habit:
I keep getting more and more even though it will take forever to get through the ones I already have – but I am not complaining.  I love books.

X Marks The Spot: Start at the top left of your shelf and pick the 27th book:
Glow by Amy Kathleen Ryan (Audio CD) to read
As I Wake by Elizabeth Scott (Physical book) to read

Your latest book purchase:
Dualed by Elsie Chapman (Audio CD)
Proxy by Alex London (Physical book)

ZZZ-snatcher book (last book that kept you up WAY late):

Arclight by Josin L. McQuein
