Waiting On Wednesday (Dodger)

Wednesday, August 29, 2012

Waiting On Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine. Every Wednesday participants choose a book that they are "waiting on" or hasn't been released yet. This week I'm waiting for some Oliver Twist awesomeness:

Dodger by Terry Pratchett

Publisher: HarperCollins Publishers
Publication Date: September 13, 2012
Pages: 336
PerOrder It: Amazon
A storm. Rain-lashed city streets. A flash of lightning. A scruffy lad sees a girl leap desperately from a horse-drawn carriage, in a vain attempt to escape her captors. Can the lad stand by and let her be caught again? Of course not, because he's ...Dodger. --Goodreads
I am in love with all things Oliver Twist and when I saw this awesome book trailer (yes, I said book trailer) pop up on my radar, I had to check it out.  The cover makes me think that it is more on the Children's genre, rather than the YA that I would have thought it would be from the trailer (below) but I will definitely be reading this one.  It sounds fantastic.  It looks fantastic.  And it releases right before my birthday which is an awesome plus.  Check out the trailer, and tell me what you think.

What are you waiting for, this fine Wednesday?

  1. Oh, wow! I haven't heard of this one, and have actually only read part of a Pratchett novel (Nation) and didn't love it, but this one sounds really good. I also really like Oliver Twist, so the premise alone is enough to get my attention! Adding this to my to-read list. :)

  3. I saw this one available for review on Edelweiss. I almost requested it, but then I chickened out. I wasn't sure I'd like it. I'm going to check out your trailer, maybe it will help me decide.

  4. That sounds and looks like a lot of fun. I haven't read Oliver Twist, but I always like books that take classic stories and change them a little.

Thanks for visiting Working for the Mandroid!
