Waiting On Wednesday (A Long Long Sleep)

Wednesday, June 08, 2011

Waiting On Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine. Every Wednesday participants choose a book that they are "waiting on" or hasn't been released yet. This week I'm waiting for some a sleeping beauty:

A Long Long Sleep by Anna Sheehan

Publisher: Candlewick
Publication Date: August 9, 2011
Pages: 352
Per Order It: Amazon
Rosalinda Fitzroy has been asleep for sixty-two years when she is woken by a kiss.

Locked away in the chemically induced slumber of a stasis tube in a forgotten sub-basement, sixteen-year-old Rose slept straight through the Dark Times that killed millions and utterly changed the world she knew. Now her parents and her first love are long dead, and Rose -- hailed upon her awakening as the long-lost heir to an interplanetary empire -- is thrust alone into a future in which she is viewed as either a freak or a threat.

Desperate to put the past behind her and adapt to her new world, Rose finds herself drawn to the boy who kissed her awake, hoping that he can help her to start fresh. But when a deadly danger jeopardizes her fragile new existance, Rose must face the ghosts of her past with open eyes -- or be left without any future at all.

I can't wait until this one comes out! This fairy tale retelling sounds fantastic! I am a sucker for those kind, like Flinn's Beastly and A Kiss in Time. I have such high expectations for this one and I hope I'm not disappointed. Coming in August, that's almost here. Can you believe that the summer is almost upon us? And I'm graduating this year! Let's have a book party all summer! (I just realized that I'm rambling, sorry for that.)

Can't wait for this book and the problem is, I'm going to have to :(. So what are you waiting for?

  5. Thanks for stopping by. Great choice in book! I am really excited and such a sucker for fairy tales too! It's hard though because like you said, you don't want your expectations to be too high. I'm a new follower! And happy graduation! (potentially early)
