Waiting On Wednesday (The Summer of Firsts and Lasts)

Wednesday, April 20, 2011

Waiting On Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine. Every Wednesday participants choose a book that they are "waiting on" or hasn't been released yet. This week I'm waiting for the summer:
The Summer of Firsts and Lasts by Terra Elan McVoy

Publisher: Simon Pulse
Publication Date: May 3, 2011
Pages: 432
Per Order It: Amazon
Three sisters. One life-changing summer.

Calla loves summer because summer means Duncan. They’ve been best friends for years, but Calla has never worked up the nerve to tell him how she really feels. This summer, the summer before college, is Calla's last chance.

Violet isn't much of a rule breaker in real life. But this isn't real life, this is summer, and Violet is determined to make the most of it. Besides, a little sneaking out never hurt anyone. And sneaking out with James is 100% worth the risk...even though James is completely off-limits.

Daisy has never been the sister that boys notice, but when sparks fly with Joel at the first bonfire of summer, it seems so easy and right. So why is being his girlfriend so complicated? --Goodreads
This book just sounds like the definition of adorable.  It sounds like a book I can imagine reading while I'm at the beach in the summer.  It makes me want summer; I can almost feel the hot temperatures, cool breeze, and ice-cold lemonade.  Summer.  I think it is also mysterious how the character, Violet, believes that "this isn't real life, this is summer."  It makes me sort of want to know what her deal is-- it's like summer is just a break from real life. Ha!  Anyway, this book sounds great and I've read a book by McVoy and loved it.  So for this book all I have to do is wait until May.
