Friday's the Best Day of the Week!

Friday, April 29, 2011

Yah!  It's Friday.  I'm seriously contemplating whether or not Friday or Saturday is the best day of the week.  It just may be Friday, because the day certainly has its perks.  I mean, I get to participate in two awesome memes.  Follow Friday from Parajunkee and Blogger Hop from Crazy-for-Books.com are Friday memes, a great way to make new friends.  Here's the questions below:

Keeping with the dystopian and apocalypse theme that seems to be running rampant on parajunkee.com, I have one very hard question for you: If you were stocking your bomb shelter, what books would you HAVE to include if you only had space for ten?
Nevermore by Kelly Creagh- Because I'm in love with Edgar Allen Poe.
Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins- The BEST contemporary romance novel of 2010.
Revolution by Jennifer Donnelly- Amazing characterization and Paris, what's not to love?
The Hunger Games by Suzzane Collins- AMAZING!
Going Bovine by Libba Bray- Wonderful story, great characters, and a talking gnome.
Boy Toy by Barry Lyga- Lovely tone, totally moving, and wonderfully in-depth. And I love Lyga's work.
Hate List by Jennifer Brown- The aftermath of the tragedy, a wonderful story of a character growing.
The Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold- The narrator is telling her story while she watches from Heaven. FANTASTIC!
Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte- Heathcliff, I hate and love you. But still I can never get enough from you.
Shutter Island by Dennis Lehane- It's full of twists, great plot, and a mysterious ending.

This pile of books can keep me entertained for months. I can reread these so many times. They're all great.

Summer is coming quickly - what 2011 summer release are you are most looking forward to?
I am eagerly awaiting Supernaturally by Keirsten White (summary below).  Paranormalcy was fantastic; you can find my 4 star review HERE.
A lot has changed in the six months since Evie escaped from the International Paranormal Containment Agency with her shape-shifter boyfriend, Lend. She finally has the blissfully normal life she’s always dreamed of, including:
1) A real live high school
2) A perfectly ordinary after-school job
3) Her very own locker (and by the way, rusted metal is every bit as awesome as she imagined)

But Evie’s not-so-normal past keeps creeping up on her...and things get pretty complicated when you factor in:
1) A centuries-old, seriously decaying vampire stalker
2) A crazy faerie ex-boyfriend who is the perpetual bearer of really bad news
3) A major battle brewing between the faerie courts where the prize in question happens to be...Evie herself.
So much for normal. --Goodreads

Can't wait for this book!

Have a great weekend, you guys!
