Waiting on Wednesday (Blessed)

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine. This meme helps bloggers to learn about books that are soon to be released (and ones that are just plain awesome looking!). This week, I'm waiting to be blessed...

Title: Blessed
Author: Cynthia Leitich Smith
Pages: 480
Publisher: Candlewick Press
Publication Date: February 8th, 2011

via Goodreads:

Quincie P. Morris, teen restaurateuse and neophyte vampire, is in the fight of her life -- or undeath. Even as she adjusts to her new appetites, she must clear her best friend and true love, the hybrid werewolf Kieren, of murder charges; thwart the apocalyptic ambitions of Bradley Sanguini, the seductive vampire-chef who "blessed" her; and keep her dead parents’ restaurant up and running. She hires a more homespun chef and adds the preternaturally beautiful Zachary to her wait staff. But with hundreds of new vampires on the rise and Bradley off assuming the powers of Dracula Prime, Zachary soon reveals his true nature -- and a flaming sword -- and they hit the road to staunch the bloodshed before it’s too late. Even if they save the world, will there be time left to salvage Quincie’s soul?
This book is the third in Smith's Tantalize series. If you've read this first two installments, Tantalize and Eternal, you know they're riddled with vampires, werewolves, angels, and mortals. If you haven't read the first two books, you know now :]

Tantalize follows Quincie P. Morris, an orphaned restaurateur who owns Sanguini's: A Very Rare Restaurant. The problem? Her werewolf love is about to go on a rite of passage. Their chef is murdered, and the replacement knows nothing about putting on a good show for the public. Or does he?

Eternal is the story of Miranda, who finally becomes the life (or death) of the party when she dies and becomes the adopted daughter of the vampire king. The only problem is that her guardian angel is about to get his butt handed to him for letting her die, and then losing her soul to the undead. Can Zachary, demoted to human form, convince Miranda to cross into the light, and give into her growing feelings for Zachary, or will he fail again and lose her soul forever?

Blessed twists the two stories by mixing both books' casts together. Smith has revealed that Quincie somehow hires Zachary to her wait staff at Sanguini's. Also, I'm seeing hints of murder charges and rampaging vampires versus angels with flaming swords? Awesome!!!

I'm counting down the days (13!) until Blessed hits shelves!

What are you waiting on?
