Top 10 Books on My Winter TBR

Tuesday, November 28, 2017

It just occurred to me that December is almost here. The year is almost over. When will I have time for all the hundred plus books I still want to read? I've decided that most of next year, 2018, will be reading back-list books because I need to stop buying all the amazing new books and forgetting about the old ones still on my shelf. I'm suffocating under my TBR; it is not pretty.

Before 2018 sets in and it's back-list books 24/7, I'm hoping to finish some newer books. Setting a TBR usually doesn't work for me because I'm very much a mood reader. However, with some effort, I hope to finish at least half this list before the year is out. Top Ten Tuesday is a meme created and hosted by The Broke and the Bookish.  This week's topic is: Top 10 Books On My Winter TBR:

Unforgiven by Lauren Kate: It's been a long while since I finished the Fallen series. Then Unforgiven releases out of nowhere and is supposedly the fifth book in the series, though I think it's just the first book in another perspective. I'm excited to read this one as it is in the prespective of Cam, the bad boy character of the series.

As You Wish by Cary Elwes: I've had this one in my possession for too long for it not to be read. I adore The Princess Bride so I can't wait to read this one and get a first-hand glimpse at what it took to make the film.

The Orphan Queen by Jodi Meadows: I know I say this every year but I don't read enough fantasy. And I don't know why because I absolutely love the genre. Here's a last attempt at getting some good fantasy books in before the year is over.

Flame in the Mist by Renee Ahdieh: Yes, I still haven't read it. I talked about it so much when it first came out this year and I just haven't gotten around to actually reading it. To be honest, the mixed reviews definitely set me against it but it will be read before the year is over.

The Forgetting by Sharon Cameron: I purchased The Forgetting at another blogger's recommendation. The premise sounds so intriguing: everyone in the town does not remember anything except our protagonist who begins to uncover the truth.

Reign the Earth by A.C Gaughen: I'm getting a headstart on 2018 with this January release. And, yes, it's a fantasy!

The Cage by Megan Shepherd: I was reorganizing my bookshelves last week and came across The Cage. I accidentally read the last page and now I need to know what's going on. I don't know how one accidentally reads the last page, but that is the story I'm telling myself.

When Dimple Met Rishi by Sandhya Menon: I've been meaning to read this one ever since it released and I still haven't.

Allegiant by Veronica Roth: After being spoiled by another reader, the last thing I want to do is continue with the series. However, I don't want to not finish the series so I'm going to try to push through and read Allegiant.

Stalking Jack the Ripper by Kerri Maniscalco: I've heard so many amazing things about this one! I purchased this a few months ago and I've been itching to read it. Plus, for some reason, it gives off major wintry vibes.

  1. Ooh nice! I still need to read As You Wish and The Cage as well! So sorry to hear about someone spoiling Allegiant for you! I don't think I was very active on twitter at the time so I pretty much steered clear of it and all reviews until I read it myself. Hope you read Stalking Jack the Ripper soon! I LOVED that one!!

  2. I love THE FORGETTING! It has such an intriguing, mysterious plot. It's a little confusing at first, but keep at it -- it's worth it.

    Happy TTT!
