Top Ten Debut Authors that Won Me Over

Tuesday, November 03, 2015

Top Ten Tuesday is a meme created and hosted by The Broke and the Bookish.  This week's topic is: Top Ten -- Top Ten Debut Authors Whose Sophomore Novels We Are Looking Forward To.  I changed it a little because this year, I haven't read a lot of debut authors.  Let's take a trip a few years back (they are not all a few years back) and think about all the awesome debuts that won us over.  Here's mine:

Jackie Lea Sommers (The Book that Sealed the Deal: Truest): I went into that novel knowing absolutely nothing except that it was a debut and I came out of the book feeling so much awe! This author has some power.

Victoria Aveyard (The Book that Sealed the Deal: Red Queen): So much love for this author! I impatiently wait for Glass Sword which releases 2/9/16.

Sabaa Tahir (The Book that Sealed the Deal: An Ember in the Ashes): A fantasy that rocked my world.  Can't wait for A Torch Against the Night in 4/26/16.

Sara Raasch (The Book that Sealed the Deal: Snow Like Ashes): I just finished this last week and couldn't have been more surprised.  It was awesome with nonstop action and amazing characters!

Renee Ahdieh (The Book that Sealed the Deal: Fanfare): Yes, she is the author who just released The Wrath and the Dawn, a fantastic retelling! The sequel, The Rose and the Dagger, is coming out 5/3/16.

Dawn Kurtagich (The Book that Sealed the Deal: The Dead House): I think, by now, I own three different copies of this book.  Complete with documents and videos, text messages and secret files, this book is definitely a gem.  I hope all the books Kurtagich creates are just as good!

Sophie Kinsella (The Book that Sealed the Deal: Finding Aubrey): Her YA debut was awesome and I can't wait to hear what she writes up next!

Lindsay Francis Brambles (The Book that Sealed the Deal: Becoming Darkness): Everyone needs to read his debut. It has truly got something for everyone and it is awesome!  And the more people read the debut, the more of a chance we get to have a sequel! I want to meet Vampire Hitler!

Rosamund Hodge (The Book that Sealed the Deal: Cruel Beauty): I am still fangirling over this one.  Hodge is an awesome writer! She will steal your heart!

Jennifer Brown (The Book that Sealed the Deal: Hate List): That book broke my heart when it released! It was magnificent and now she has released so many awesome books, I've lost count.

What debut authors won you over?
