Follow Friday, Book Blogger Hop, and Book Blogger Tag Along (4/1/11)

Friday, April 01, 2011

Follow Friday is hosted by Parajunkee at her blog. This week's question is:
What is the book that you really don't want to admit to loving?
Answer: Well, for me, this question is kind of hard to answer. Usually I'm more embarrassed by some of the covers than the actual material of the book. Seriously, go to the romance section and grab a few of them to check out. In my experience, the cheesier the title, the saucier the cover.

The Book Blogger Hop is hosted by Jennifer over at Crazy-for-Books. Her question is:
Since today is April Fool's Day in the USA, what is the best prank you have ever played on someone OR that someone has played on you?
Answer:  A few years ago, my friend's birthday fell on a school day. At our school, the unlucky birthday guy or gal usually gets their locker decorated. [Mine still has tape on it from December...] She told us over and over that she didn't want us to decorate her locker. So, did we respect her wishes? Nope! Two or three of us came in early that day and broke into her locker, then LOADED it up with confetti and Hershey kisses filled bags attached to the top and the door. Then we all scattered and when she opened it, there was literally an explosion of chocolate and glitter. The janitors made us clean it up, but just seeing her face as she turned around, covered in glitter and kisses... Priceless!

The 18 & Over Book Blogger Tag Along is hosted by Laurie from Bitten by Paranormal Romance. Her question:
Where is your favorite place to read?
Answer: I'm glad you asked! I happen to be quite versatile in my reading locations. However, I really love this one couch in my house where the springs are broken so you sit into it and sink in so far you cannot get up without help. It's sooooo comfy!

Have a great weekend!

  2. Ha! Yeah, some of the covers are embarrassing to carry around. I think I'd have to make book covers if I were to take any romance novel to a public place, lol. Thanks for stopping by my blog.

Ok, you convinced me, I'm going to get something juicy to read sometime soon. actually I got a review offer that I would normally turn down, because it's a romance novel. But then, it's also a PARANORMAL romance novel, so I decided to take it and we'll see if I'm one of the people who enjoys juicy romances heheh~

  5. I had to giggle aloud at the idea of a chocolate/glitter explosion. Sounds fantastic. What is up with the old broken furniture being the most comfortable. It's like that at my house too.

  10. At first I wasn't going to participate in this week's Book Blogger Hop. I'm not even sure why.

But here I am. And I'm glad! To dispel any false impressions people may have had about me being a old, stodgy fuddy-duddy I'm happy to share some of my very best pranks with you.

Highlights include - low-grade explosives, eggs and salt shakers. Get all the side-splitting details over on my blog - http://www.howardsherman.net

They date back to my younger years as a Brooklyn boy which brings about some introspection.

I'm going to go pull some pranks today. Look out world! I'm coming out of prankster retirement!

  11. Hi there! I saw your listing at the FF event and thought I'd check out your blog. I'm a brand-new follower, and have also occasionally been slightly embarrassed to be seen with one of those oh-so-steamy romance covers in my hand at the book store. ;)

  12. Hi, sorry this is sooo late, but I'm replying to your message on my blog.
I quote Shakespeare too. And I get annoyed when people quote it wrong! My family does it on purpose now!
Yeah, the covers are a little embarrassing... Thanks for visiting my blog! (:
