Teaser:
"Their legs seemed as slender as grass stems, and the place where head met the neck was so delicate a child's hands could ring it; they moved as if they weighed nothing at all, as if they might float away, even without spreading their wings. And no human could ever take their eyes off a pegasus' wings."
-Pegasus by Robin McKinley, pg 129
Pegasus
Author: Robin McKinley
Pages: 404
Publisher: Putnam Juvenile
Publication Date: November 2, 2010

Because of a thousand-year-old alliance between humans and pagasi, Princess Sylviianel is ceremonially bound to Ebon, her own Pegasus, on her twelfth birthday. The two species coexist peacefully, despite the language barriers separating them. Humans and pegasi both rely on specially-trained Speaker magicians as the only means of real communication.
But its different for Sylvi and Ebon. They can understand each other. They quickly grow close-so close that their bond becomes a threat to the status quo-and possibly to the future safety of their two nations.
Honestly, this book has been gracing my bedroom floor for the past six months or so. Though after scouring it for a teaser, my interest has been perked.. I love the tagline "Because she was a princess, she had a pegasus...", not to mention that mythology is my favorite topic!

Have you read Pegasus? What did you think?

  1. I've not read Pegasus yet. I've only read one review and it wasn't a positive one. The book sounds really good though from your teaser.

  11. I love Pegasus! It's one of Robin McKinley's best books--at least, out of the ones I've read. :) (I was a bit shocked by the ending, though. It was completely unexpected.)
