Follow Friday, Book Blogger Hop, and Book Blogger Tag Along (3/11/11)

Hey everyone! Gina and Nora here for some Friday fun!

Follow Friday is a weekly meme hosted by Parajunkee over at her blog. The meme lets readers bond with questions such as:
Who are You the Boy/Girl, instead of You the Blogger?
Nora: I am Nora, the reader/babysitter/library page/neat freak/book blogger extraordinaire; hear me roar! I have non-existent musical talent, but I love listening to my iPod. Books are my anti-drug. I learned to knit last week, so I'm currently struggling to compose something that slightly resembles a scarf. My friends are awesome, both the bookish ones and the non. I can currently be found in an undeveloped boondocks in New York with my multitudes of hermit crabs, books, and pirate paraphernalia.

Gina: My name is Gina.  I read books and stuff.  I love to write, walk around my neighborhood (because, seriously, there is nothing to do around the "undeveloped boondocks in New York."), and read YA.  I spend most of my time writing on my wonderful blog, reading (duh!), and helping my bother with his homework.  Nora and I are seniors in high school and can't wait to get out of this small place and into the world.  (*dramatic music here*)

Jennifer over at Crazy for Books hosts a weekly meme where bloggers can unite over a bookish inquiry:
If I gave you £50 (or $80) and sent you into a bookshop right now, what would be in your basket when you finally staggered to the till?
Nora: Oh, where do I begin? Usually, I'm a library pride all the way kind of girl, so I don't really buy my books, preferring the read it and pass it along methods instead. Usually I read the books before I buy, so I can judge if it’s worth purchasing or not. However, when I find one, I add it to the list!

Mona Lisa Awakening by Sunny
Mona Lisa Blossoming by Sunny
Mona Lisa Craving by Sunny
Mona Lisa Darkening by Sunny
Other by Karen Kincy
No Mercy by Sherrilyn Kenyon
Wild Fire by Christine Feehan
The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins
Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins
Mockingjay by Suzanne Collins

Gina: Free money... it's like a dream come true!  All the books I want probably would go way over $80, but I'll try:

Nevermore by Kelly Creagh
The Book Thief by Marcus Zusak
Cloaked by Alex Flinn
Ghost Town by Rachel Cain
Halo by Alexandra Adornetto

Laurie over at Bitten by Paranormal Romance hosts this meme; it helps romance book bloggers unite with its questions:
How many erotic books do you buy in a month?
Nora: Personally, maybe two or three. I'm not so much into buying (as explained above), but I am planning on harnessing some of the collective power of Amazon gift certificates to get Sunny's Monere: Children of the Moon series soon, and that classifies as paranormal e-rom, so yay for expanded horizons! (Plus, if you've never read the series, I highly recommend it because its not a steamy e-rom like others, it actually has an underlying back story that works in with the smut :)

*By the way, Gina and I are going to do our first book discussion read-along and we want you to pick the book! On the upper left hand side of the blog, there’s a poll. Please vote for your favorite choice!

  2. Hi Gina and Nora! I have the Book Thief and I keep starting and stopping it. I think it is going to be an amazing read, but something always comes up. I tried to learn how to knit. Hopefully you are more successful than I was because my first scarf unraveled as soon as I finished and I'm positive it isn't supposed to do that.

  4. Hi, thanks for hopping by my blog! I have to say, I adore the font on your blog - so cute and fun! The Hunger Games series and The Book Thief were both spectacular reads, so you should definitely read them when you get to the chance. Cloaked is also on my to-read list.

  5. Thanks for hopping by our blog, Gina! I have never visited you girls before--and I loved the fact that you're two bloggers, as well as me and Guta @ Murphy's Library! I don't remember seeing any other blog like that, made by two friends ;)

Nora, I'm an au pair--which means I take care of children too--, and I look after a 24 months old little girl and her little brother, who's turning 2 months old in 3 days... Sometimes is just INSANE! LOL

Gina, I heard mixed thoughts about Halo... I'm not sure is my cup of tea, but I'm looking forward to reading what you'll think about it :)

  6. Hopping through. Nora - If you're a neat freak, I need you to come over to my house and help me clean. Everything has to be spotless to put up for sale and I'm not a good cleaner :-)
